One of the key elements to the Kappa League mentoring program is community service. To the left, LDAC Kappa Leaguers out in support of Martin Luther King's birthday in Lawrenceville.
There were about 30 Kappa Leaguers in attendance. On the right, Kappa Leaguers helping out the Salvation Army Toys for Tots.
Kappa League Conference

There were various workshops such as Peer Pressure, Health Issues, Entrepreneurship, Making Good Decisions, and How To Succeed. Additional photos for the conference. Kappa Leaguers also attended the Atlanta Hawks game against the Philadelphia 76er's down at Phillips Arena.

First Annual Golf Tournament

The Kappa Leaguers assisted with the first annual LDAC golf tournament. Those that attended had a great time for a good cause.
Proceeds from the event went towards scholarships awarded to a graduating senior in all 20 high schools in Gwinnett County as well as Kappa League scholarships awarded by the LDAC Foundation.

Dacorvyn Young received individual recognition at the 2014 Kappa League conference.
He also received a scholarship from Kenneth Haynes (LDAC Foundation) for his high school and active membership in the Kappa League.
Dacorvyn also received a full scholarship to Georgia Institute of Technology.

ACT/SAT Free Preparation!
We will be following up to get parents who are interested enrolled in the Naviance Program that is available to our Kappa Leaguers. We will be getting updated on the tool so that we can better provide assistance to our young men.

Kappa Leaguers attended the Battle of the Bands on January 24, 2015 at the Georgia Dome. The event supports and recognizes the excellence of Black college marching bands and the unique academic experience offered by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
